MrGandi -> Sub follows contact outside Patrol and Prosecution Area (10/10/2016 9:07:42 PM)

Hey guys,

I've made a test scenario where a red sub is on an ASW mission.
A blue sub enters its patrol zone end after being detected it gets trailed even outside designated area.
Though investigating contacts outside patrol area is unchecked.
Not sure why the red sub still follows the blue one.
Can you have a look?

Is it not supposed to stay inside the Prosecution area?

What version are you running?

As soon as I turned off "Ignore plotted course when attacking", the sub disengaged and headed back to the zone. That option allows to have patrol units stay on a target until its killed. Note that before changing that setting, the blue sub is Engaged Offensive".

For aircraft I set the ignore option to to on and for ships and subs, I typically leave it off. Just my thoughts on it.

Thank you.

I'm running Build 847,1 with the Database 446.

By not ignoring the plotted course the red sub first finishes it's plotted course and then starts trailing the blue sub.

Is there any way to keep the red sub inside prosecution area?
The red sub is supposed the chase the blue one out of a specific area.

So you want it to not follow it out of the area. You can use an event and lua. I think you being pretty particular with what you are trying to do. You can shrink the patrol area to very small also. There are numerous things you can do. I would suggest experimenting with them.

Ok, thewood1.

I was not sure whether it's a bug.
I will do some more tests and see what alternatives are possible.

Thank you for taking time!!
