greg_slith -> need older version to update (10/15/2016 4:00:59 PM)

Hello,
I've been away from this game for quite awhile and just tried to update to 1.11 but ran into trouble. I'm being told my version is too old to update. That doesn't suprise me as it's been a long time. My version is 1.04 build 554. How can I update to the current build?
Greg

Have you tried downloading file (v1.10) from Matrix member site and installing from that?

greg_slith -> RE: need older version to update (10/16/2016 2:07:45 AM)

That's the problem, I can't find where any earlier versions are.

greg_slith -> RE: need older version to update (10/16/2016 2:46:03 AM)

Ok I found it but THAT one says I need an older version. 1.08's link says ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/CommandModernAirNavalOperations/CommandModernAirNavalOperations-UpdateComp-v108.zip might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

Uninstall the game and reinstall the game with the installer file 1.10 from the Matrix Member's area.

Thanks for the help but I'm still having problems. I've uninstalled and tried to download 1.10 from the members area. It says I can't use it because the game isn't there (anymore). I've got my order number and stuff. if you could give me a link to where you think I should be going I'd appreciate it.

If you are running on a 64bit Windows version, please do the following procedures:

1. Uninstall CMANO

2. Download the file attached (CMANO_X64_Uninstall.zip) and unzip it.

3. Run the extracted file (CMANO_X64_Uninstall.reg) and allow the "program" to delete/edit the game Windows registry keys.

4. Download the game file installer (CommandMANO-CommandNI-SetupRelease-v110.zip) from the Matrix member's area:

5. Once you have downloaded the file please unzip it. Run the extracted file to install the game.

Run the game and if everything is alright then try to update it using the game update feature in the launcher screen.

P.S. If you are running a 32bit Windows version then please let us know and I'll upload a different file.

And after installing v1.10 do not forget to download and install the latest update v1.11 SR5 (also from Members club).

Success!! Thank you!!

travcrouse -> RE: need older version to update (10/17/2016 4:11:51 PM)

Same story here: been away for a very long time and I'm doing a fresh install on a new desktop. Installed CMANO from the CD.
So now I need to locate and download versions 1.08 thru 1.11, and install them sequentially?

VPaulus -> RE: need older version to update (10/17/2016 6:54:06 PM)

No. You need to follow the steps on Post#: 7.

thewood1 -> RE: need older version to update (10/17/2016 7:29:53 PM)

I am going to ask a stupid question...

Why do I need to uninstall and the run an X64 uninstall right after? The only other game that ever forced me to run a registry cleaner was Combat Mission.

VPaulus -> RE: need older version to update (10/17/2016 9:00:23 PM)

Usually, you don't need to run the reg cleanear, as long as you uninstall CMANO and install the game using the new game file installer.
As the game had different installation folders since it was originally released, the reg cleaner will only enforce that you'll be performing a clean game installation.
But it's up to you. Uninstall and ignore the steps regarding the reg cleaner. If it doesn't work, do it again, but this time perform the reg cleaner steps.

FldM Rudy Meyers -> RE: need older version to update (11/9/2016 11:22:16 PM)

Hi, VPaulus
Windows 10 64 bit OS. Same problem as others having similar problem; however, updated old copy using ver 1.09 and ended up with both original CMANO and version 1.09 CMANO Wargame of the Year. Only problem was that when I updated to ver. 1.10 and then ver 1.11, the original CMANO quit working and CMANO Wargame of the Year still said version 1.09. I tried uninstalling; however unable to uninstall Wargame of the Year and only partially uninstall original CMANO. Now, Wargame of the Year says it is an unlicensed copy.

I still have the boxed ver 1.01 with valid key.

If I can get (somehow) the key back into registry, will that work?

If not, the CMANO_x64_Uninstall.reg refuses to download saying there has been 12 downloads already???

Mike
