Hi terminator,

it was used by several nations and originated in a neutral country. The equipment is for ground combat.

Hi Ronald,
certainly a gun. You have to be patient.

Ronald Wendt -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (6/3/2017 7:09:25 AM)

AngrySwan -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (6/3/2017 11:57:38 PM)

Hi Ronald,

terminator -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (6/4/2017 7:49:57 AM)

I had the same idea as Marechal.

Hi folks,

indeed it the 37 mm from Bofors, will be issued for several nations. You make it look so easy. [;)]

terminator -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (6/5/2017 5:11:57 AM)

I found some info :
The standard Bofors of 37 mm was an antitank standard designed by the Swedish manufacturer Bofors in the 1930s. He was made under license in a number of country of which Poland. The made version under license by the Poles (WZ.36) was actively used during the German and Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939. The brigade of cavalry "Wolynska" equipped with the antitank gun WZ.36 of 37mm contained the German divisions of Panzer during one of the first battles of the invasion; the battle of Mokra. At that time, the armoured strengths of the Wehrmacht were mainly equipped with light tanks Panzer I and Panzer II, who were vulnerable to this type of weapon. The first models of Panzer III and Panzer IV could be also destroyed until a distance of 500 m. After Poland was occupied, most of these artillery fell in the hands of the German and Soviet armies. The standard(cannon), had become obsolete from 1941 during the operation Barbarossa.

In Panzer Corps, 4 nations used it :
- Poland
- Finland
- Yugoslavia
- Romania

Ronald Wendt -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (6/5/2017 8:18:48 AM)

Hi terminator,

in addition it will be availble for Germany as 3,7 cm PaK 36(p) which they had after looting Polands stocks, as well as the Soviets who used it from the same source (Eastern Poland) to replace the many losses during Barbarossas early stages.

Regards,

Ronald Wendt -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (7/12/2017 6:40:56 AM)

Hi folks,

added 37 PstK/36 for Finland.

zakblood -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (7/13/2017 10:01:54 AM)

all good to know, look forward to getting back into action, hope Army General is going well

AngrySwan -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (7/15/2017 11:46:25 PM)

Hi Ronald,

The Italian fighters are welcome to the sector of Army Group South. We need fighters everywhere.

terminator -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (7/16/2017 10:01:19 AM)

It is always considerable being able to use immediately the new units.
The Italian units (L/40 & Macchi C.200) can serve immediately in the Army Group South.

Ronald Wendt -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (7/19/2017 7:03:46 AM)

Hi floks,

added Bofors 40mmm for the Fins, Poland will receive its share also.

Yes the Italians are now better equipped for the war in Southern Russia and they have to be if the Soviet onslaught comes from end of 1942 on.

@zakblood:

No, Army General is not going well, in fact Phobetor is for some time now not doing well.

Therefore Army General will be my last historical wargame.
For over ten years now i made and supported these games but in large the players do not like my games and they clearly voted with their wallet against them.
Reasons are plenty, but possible reactions are very few. I chose to make different games from now, try different markets etc.

All the same i will continue to support, fix and expand GaW and AG regulary. E.g. GaW will see the promised Soviet campaign as the German Allies get ready for it.

The support of you guys here and in other places helped me hold fast and i am grateful for it. So this is no good bye - i will be around.

Regards,

zakblood -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (7/19/2017 7:30:26 AM)

sorry to hear that Ronald [:(]

it's a shame, but seems part of the times atm, with war games in general seeming to be all going the same way, seems the fact that the younger players are more interested in quick action and short games over interesting and more of the long term approach doesn't help much either regarding sales etc

as the market grows in some area's for gaming it shrinks regarding the amount of war game developers, which gets now less and less each year.

wish you look on any new projects in what ever direction you take and thanks again for supporting your past games as always

Ronald Wendt -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (7/20/2017 5:14:46 AM)

Hi folks,

added the Bofors 40mm for the Polish army.

@zakblood: Don't be sad, its just the way things are. Defeat is part of accepting a fight. Thanks for the wishes, i will need them anywhere i go in this business. You are welocme on the support side, it will continue quite as usual.

Regards,

zakblood -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (7/20/2017 5:22:00 AM)

you will always have my friendship and support[&o]

Ronald,
I'm so sorry to hear the news about your games. I love this game and your support has been way above average. I think Matrix did this excellent and still actively supported game a major diservice putting it the "dustbin" of Current Games thereby limiting its' exposure. A basically dead game, Pandora Series, is still up in the New Releases section. Makes no sense to me.
Good luck to you in your future endeavors.

AngrySwan -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (7/21/2017 12:21:10 AM)

Hi Ronald,

Market is a tricky thing and something that is not "bad" by itself sometimes does not sell. But then a few modders can give a second life to a game.

Hi Ronald,

thanks for your past and present support as well as your wishes. Matrix/Slitherine will do what is best for Matrix/Slitherine - no matter whatever definition of "best" is used. I think thats quite natural in a free market. If they think GaW serves them best here, they put it here, if they change their mind it might end up in a better spot. It felt a bit arbitrary but then again i am not part of their strategic hq that manages many more games thus having other priorities i guess.

sure, those things are different discussions, market success and product quality though both are linked. If you and terminator continue your work, GaW might get immortal :-D

hi Ken, thanks for your support, as you often cheered me up here and were even crazy enough to show up on our Facebook page. Its nice to hear you like the games, thats what we make them for. Fun.

Finally a general thanks for all the others that contributed in one or the other way.

We will have a lot of fun with Germany at War with the things to come. For example the Soviets will be ready for their deadly counter blows some day in the near future.

Ronald Wendt -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (7/27/2017 4:27:50 AM)

added 3,7 cm PaK 36(p) (Polish Bofors 37mm pressed into German service) to the game.

This all looks fantastic, love your work Ronald!

Ronald Wendt -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (9/7/2017 11:45:15 AM)

Hi folks,

@36142CP thanks

@terminator: The Brits will get the bofors in a later update. As for the Hungarians: i have not found historical proof their army has officially adapted that cannon. Will add it if you can find some (WitE is usually well researched (and a great game btw.) - still not a source like i have in mind).

To answer this question, it requires a new thread.

Ronald Wendt -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (9/14/2017 5:55:31 AM)

Hi terminator,

thanks - needed a short break to rest and adjust.

Such a thread would be interesting for sure. I could learn something which i would appreciate.

Regards,

Ronald Wendt -> RE: New units in Germany at War 1.08 (9/15/2017 6:35:21 AM)

Hi folks,

added the Bofors 37mm for Romania they seem to have bought from Germany.

Italy is down one unit from the original plan.
