problem with supply (Full Version)

i tried to add a picture of my problem but look like i am not allowed to.
Ok so i think there is a bug with the supply. According to the map and the manual there is almost railroad everywhere on the map connecting town and cities except for north africa and middle east. but when i look at my units and i use the S key i notice that the game considers there is no railroad at all. According to the manual if you connect a railroad from a major supply all along the way there sould be 12 supply value but it is never the case you only have 12 on the capital itself and then it decrease as you go away.
Also for the suply privded by HQ i noticed the HQ always give 5 more supply than its supply value, is it noted somewhere because i didnt find it. THanks.

Connection by rail to any other friendly resource
from all of the above except for Ports will raise
the connected resources to their maximum
strength and supply levels.

This is the only mention of Rail lines in the Supply section, and it might be a little unclear. I think it says that a rail connection would raise a resource to its' own maximum, not to the maximum of 12, which is they way that I understand it. If you cut a resource's rail line then that resource will go lower than its' maximum.

HQ's I've never really payed attention to, I just know they are good [:)]

Hi Asberdies

I think that the forum requires a minimum number of posts before images can be posted.

It might be that seeing the image will help our understanding, so if you're able to, you could always upload it to somewhere like http://s34.photobucket.com/ (you'll need to open an account, it was free when I did it) and then paste the img link to the image in a post here.

I think the way HQ's work is an HQ who's supply number looks like this: 5(8) is sitting on a level 5 supply location, but acts like a level 8 location for units to trace to.

That's right Jim, one is the HQ's own supply value, the other its supply distribution value.
