Latest beta patch (Full Version)

Miller -> Latest beta patch (12/2/2016 6:42:33 PM)

I'm currently running version 1.7.11 23x10 which is a couple of years old, could somebody advise of how I upgrade to the latest beta? Do I need to download any official patch before that or was that more than a couple of years ago? Thank you.

Ok installed the latest beta but get a "Unable to find PW data" message when I try and start the game, help?

Well not sure if that is stable official beta patch, noticed been like that since 2012. Might want to try uninstall the game and delete those folders and reinstall it. It may or may not work. Surprise no one mention this "Unable to find PW data" on the topic. Look like it is outdated and if it is, should be removed from sticky.

I would of installed the latest OFFICIAL patch first, then the latest beta....GP

The last official patch you can get from the games own updater. The beta you already have from rising sun above. Not sure if this will fix the problem. You may have to reinstall and then do the official and then the beta....GP

Yeah just clean out my pc, installed fresh Wins10 here. So after install WitP:AE, update and when I hit update on the second time, I got an error. Figured I am up to date for now.

I had the same error but I had extracted it to the Beta2 folder. I was advised to extract it to the main folder and that did the trick.

After extracting it I ran it of course.

It redoes your desktop shortcut with just a -w switch, you will have to put back in the switches you have been using.

Ok managed to do a fresh install and patched up to the latest version, but where do you install the beta to? Totally stumped on that one!

Unzip into the top level folder. It will create a new AE icon on your desk top. Use that icon to start the game....GP

have not fooled with a beta since the last official patch. What am I missing?

Well it worked for me, but miller having problems for it to work. So miller and I are sticking with official patch 1.7.11.24-Dec252014. Glad there were two files I can choose from, though I had to uninstall it and start all over.
