pavel01 -> Form New TF Button : Ships in Port listed ? (12/6/2016 9:40:28 PM)

When selecting a Base with a Port, in the Gump there is 2 buttons : "Form New TF" "Show TFs based here"

Now, when pressing the "Form New TF" past the Task Force Select Mission, a list of Ships present in Port shows up.

My question is, are those Ships listed as "available" to form that new Task Force all "idle" Ships, that is, Ships sitting there doing nothing ?

Or, would selecting any of those Ships listed "divert" it from previous orders in order to become part of that New Task Force being created ?

By default, all ships in the base hex are shown --- i.e., those in TF's as well as disbanded ships in harbor.

If you click the "In TF" button at the top, it will filter out all ships assigned to TF's, i.e., just ships in port.

More than once I have gone through a tedious time setting up a number of complex TF's, with special routings, etc. etc., only to find that I've been freely reassiging ships from previously created TF's again and again and again! Now I almost automatically make sure that ships already in TF's are filtered out!

I can't seem to find this "In TF" button at the top to filter all those Ships already within existing formed Task Forces.

Where exactly can I find it ?
Thanks !

Gotcha !

Thanks a whole bunch.

By the way, since I keep seeing in Ports a whole bunch of Cargo transports, by clicking that "In TFs" button I would cross out from the Anchored Ships also all those Cargo transports which the computer uses to ferry Supplies and Fuel ?

I would hate to re-assign Cargo Transports currently being used by the Computer for its Supplies and Fuel transport and find later on, after several turns, some Bases without supplies and fuel because I changed the orders of some transports....

Thanks !!

Sorting by the Location column will also put all of the ships in TF either at the top or bottom of the list.

Toggling the text again flips the list and moves the top to bottom and bottom to top.

Easy way to sort so you are selecting form where you want to.

The interface has many options and different ways to get the same task done.
