In my game against UnexpectedPanda, I did my first turn as the germans. When I press "end turn", the game starts processing the turn. But at the end of it all I get the following error message :

Upload file failure [99]-retry save ?

I've tried 'retry save'maybe 15 times now, but after the ...sending... message, I keep getting this error??





I can't link images yet.

My internet is working fine I think. It isn't a megaconnection, but should be around 400 KB/s.

A strange thing, which might be related is that I downloaded the game with the link, after which I downloaded the 1.09.01 beta update.
So the game screen shows 1.09.01 beta, but when I press multiplayer it gives the message a new version 1.08.08 is available??

Hope someone can help?

I just uploaded without any problems. Doesn't look like problem on Matrix side this time.

Thanks for your reply,. It doesn't help me much however.

On a sidenote: Are you by chance a German Slowakian? Robert sounds german, and i've read somewhere that some mountain germans were allowed to stay in Slowakia after 1945 due to their slowakian neighbours wanting them to stay. The german slowakians even produced a president I think?

I replied here because the 99 error is reoccuring from time to time and as far as I know usually it is problem with the Matrix pbem server. You may try again if it was not just some temporary issue.

On the sidenote, yes, from my mother side of family I am German. Though after the war my family was expelled to Soviet occupation zone in Germany but they returned. And yes, 2nd president of Slovakia has German origin.

reinstalling and replaying didn;t make a difference

Maybe your firewall is blocking transfer?

I am not quite sure how I should check that on windows 10? Do I have to specifically give WitE permission?

With in-built firewall there should be a window showing up, asking if you want to grant internet access to WitE.
But some antiviruses install their own firewall and these may operate differently.
Also, if you're on corporate network the channel may be closed by corporate firewalls external to your machine.

I know that firewall message, but didn't get it for WitE. Should I have?

Checking the firewall'list of applications, that page where permissions can be changed, I can see lots of applications but I can't find WitE there.

I am on a shared network but normally I have no problems whatsoever down or uploading anything , but later today I will be on a different internet connection, I'll give that a go. Hopefully that's going to work.

I think WitE uses FTP not HTTP to transfer files and this is blocked in many corporate networks. In mine it is.

I can ftp normally without problems I thought. I will let you know later today if the other connection works better.
