Raskolnikov -> OoB Edits & PBEM Compatibility (4/27/2003 6:53:46 AM)

Greetings all.

Grateful for any help on the following issues:

Will OoB edits compromise PBEM games; i.e. if my OoBs differ from an opponent's, will this have any effect on the battle?

If the changes are only superficial - i.e. not Unit/Weapon but Formation - will any effect be different?

If not directly relating to PBEM battle, will OoB changes be relevant; e.g. if UK OoB edited, will there be an impact in GE vs SO PBEM battle?

Many thanks (in advance)

R.

If the changes are not relevant to the battle, you are still better off telling your opponent that you have modifications, as he may get a security warning anyways. If the changes involve countries that you are using in the fight, then they are most definately not good (the game will probably still run, but you may get an angry player).

The best thing to do is get your opponent's 'ok', and send him a copy of your OOB's. He can back his normal ones up, and use the new ones. Or you could use the standard ones after you back up your mods.

Raskolnikov -> OoB Originals (4/27/2003 7:23:25 AM)

Thanks Goblin.

Is there anywhere I would be able to download unmodified original 7.1 OoBs from, or would it simply be easier to reinstall 7.1 over the top of the current installation?

Issue arises as I have a heavily modified UK OoB (& - d'oh - no backup) tho' looking at non-UK PBEM.

I think these are the original OOBs for 7.1.

Make sure you put those into the MatrixGames/Steel Panthers main folder, NOT the OOB folder, which is not used. Back up your OOB's first.

Thanks to both of you.
