HermanGraf -> Production Control? (12/28/2016 5:27:44 PM)

Hello All,

Long time lurker and observer of Turn 1 (German side). Now that I have more time on my hands and have been watching tons of youtube vidoes and reading AAE reports, I am ready to take on more than just turn 1!

I started the up the German side and got to a breakthrough, ALL THE WAY TO TURN 5!!! lol. Well I am enjoying the game and trying to figure everything out myself while peaking at the new manual off screen, its been fun.

One thing I keep seeing brought up in AARs but I am not fully grasping is production in the game. Do I have any control on where those newly produced units go? My panzers up north are suffering a lot for some reason, and I see a bunch being produced in the armaments pool, yet how do I prioritize getting those new tanks to that group??

Anyway yeah if I can be pointed in the right direction or be given a good explanation that would be great.

BTW I am still so impressed how so many manage to make it to Leningrad and encircle Smolensk on turn 2/3. I just got my advanced units to Leningrad on T5 and my panzers are all out of gas in AGC on turn 5 at Smolenks :(.

You prioritise units by setting them to refit mode, moving back a bit (certainly out of the frontline, preferably on a working rail hex and more than 10 hexes from the enemy).

Is that as far as production control goes? Aren't units always on refit mode?

Production is automatic, and so is sending replacements. However, units in refit mode (set manually for on-map combat units on a per unit basis) have a chance to receive more replacements, the same goes for units in good supply situation. That's how you can affect which units should get more replacements. But the system will not let you starve others.

Is the 10 hexes thing some gameplay mechanic or just sound advice? (I.e., is there something hardcoded about the ten hexes)

Cheers.

Thank you Morvael.

I pulled my units back to major cities (little closer to railhead) and put them on refit, their TOE was improved by a couple points and some back all the way to full.

Gameplay mechanic, especially important if you want units below their national morale level to increase it faster.

Thank you.
