bigred -> USSR activation in NW control zone (12/30/2016 7:16:47 PM)

Current game:
45-3-28
v1.7.1123
RA70

Said by opponent that all units in area 104 count as units in area 105. is this WAD? Note post 2 from rule book.

Note rule book is not correct if post one is true. Please define NW control zone.

How does the game handle the soviet forces and later on entrance into the war.
how many troops must be stationed in manchuria?
are soviet forces activated early if you go below that number?
do soviet forces take part a all??

Sven

Here are some of my notes. Please keep in mind that these may change a little bit by the time the game is finished.

Added rules for keeping Russians from moving any units (air or ground, including launching air attacks or searches, maybe even CAP) until they are activated. They are activated when Japanese units cross the Mongolian or Russian border or on August 1, 1945 or if a scenario has the activation variable set.

Implemented Manchukuo Garrison code - Manchukuo Garrison Requirement to Avoid Soviet Activation (Human player only and only in full map scenarios) – The Japanese player must keep a certain number of assault points in the Manchukuo area or the Soviet units may be activated. Any unit in the Northwest Control Zone counts toward the requirement. The assault value needed is 6000 in 41/42, 5500 in 43, 5000 in 44/45. If the total is not met there will be a small chance each day that the Soviets will activate. On the Japanese Intel Screen you will find a new line on the far left that lists Manchukuo Garrison: 8611/6000 which is the number of assault points in the current garrison and the number required to avoid Soviet Activation. (it is possible we will be increasing the garrison needed).

Hope this helps

If Korea included looks like a bug.

Lokasenna -> RE: USSR activation in NW control zone (12/30/2016 8:25:15 PM)

...Korea has always been included, which is per the design. I didn't realize this was at all in question.

HansBolter -> RE: USSR activation in NW control zone (12/30/2016 8:39:58 PM)

Very misleading to refer to it as a Manchukuo garrison then isn't it?

I mean, sure? Except that it very clearly says "Any unit in the Northwest Control Zone counts towards the requirement."

Also, the referenced post is over a decade old...

Not a good idea to base an invasion on unknown data. The question is:
WAD or bug? I probably should have posted this question on the scenario design thread.
