Will some nations get special units e.g. British Rifle Regiments, Prussian Jaegers and Landwehr etc.? Not saying they should, just curious

kirk23 have you given any thought at this stage as to how many ships the game could handle? Or is it too early for that?



As far as I know the game can handle a great many ships, at this stage my plan is that 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th Rate ships will have no effect on the Merchant Convoy routes,their job is simply to fight other ships of the line,so on the map initially they will be in port or on blockade duty.

The Frigates,Sloops & Brigs will mostly be positioned on or near the Merchant Convoy routes, The game will have many more Merchant routes on the map,than is in the game at the present time, all the Major Nations will have merchant supply routes going all over the map, which means the Naval game will be really interesting,because each sides forces will have to protect their own routes,while at the same time attack their enemy supply lanes.

Barbary pirates, Barbary corsairs or Ottoman corsairs will be in the game, sailing from Morocco, Algiers etc.[:)]

Great stuff, there shouldn't be any confusion with land units as only naval units can be in sea hexes

it's pretty, but I still actually prefer counters, I'm old school, I guess

Well, it's a counter not a selection! The hex border is the country colour and the background has a light transparency. By using the entire hexfield it's possible to size up the ships...[&:]
