Malor -> AI Places Air Units and HQs on Coast Hexes in Reach of Naval Units (1/12/2017 6:01:52 PM)

Placing this in the Tech Support forum. I've noticed the AI likes to place Air units and HQs (units too( on shore hexes where it is very easy to hit than with naval units, causing damage every turn. I've seen this many times in the USSR when the Axis AI is attempting to take the Crimea. The USSR naval units can hit them every turn (four times if you use all the units) and quickly reduce a units points down. This forces the AI to spend MPPs to reinforce on their turn and than get hit again because they did not move off the coast. Rinse and Repeat. It got so bad I've had to stop my attacks because it was hurting the AI too much. The same can be said for any coast hex on the map where AI units are involved. Africa and Italy are also likely spots. I've been able to do the same in NW Europe, but not often because of the availability of land. I have not played as Axis yet so I don't know if the Allied AI does this but I suspect it will. Something needs to be adjusted to minimize this from occurring frequently (due to space restrictions in some areas of the map, it may be impossibl to prevent). A human would do it once or twice and learn to never do it again, EVER or at least learn when the risk is appropriate. The AI does not learn and needs a rule coded to help it out. Thanks for listening. Malor
