I originally was on 1126b. I've gone to some trouble to be on the last official patch which Steve uses. I'm happy to use whatever he is. Is 1126a official or an old beta that was replaced by 1126b?

The only thing is that 1126a is listed on the members page as an open beta update version. Your chronology is spot on.

Steve, if I understand him correctly, has never used any beta version. I thought he was on 1124 and I'm still pretty sure he is, he'll let me know. Anyway, I tried to log in to access 1126a and any password I might have used was rejected so thinking I wasn't registered (because of that Slitherine / Matrix merger) I tried to do so and was told my email already was, so I reset my password. We have recently entered a new millenium and before this one is over I will be playing a game. I seem to have a very special talent that makes everything find a way to fail.

Your forum password might be different than your Member's Area password, even if the usernames are the same.

No, that's not quite right. I frequently use beta's on MY OWN games against the IA. I've even played with some of MichaelM's wild mods. I NEVER use any MOD on a PBEM UNLESS all players (including 2x2's 3x4's 2x1's etc) agree to the SAME mods or betas at the same time. With a honest to God, no fooling agreement . All on one or none at all. PERIOD. [:)]

No house rules, neither of us like them. We're still not up. I think we're going to meet to get this going. Once we do I'll probably start the real AAR from scratch, you know, here today, gorn tomorrow. If he's not keen on contributing I'll BAN him from it. [;)]

I for one would be very upset if something actually happened here. All over the forum I visit threads - WITP-AE, MWIF, SC, DC:B etc - all have one thing in common; AAR threads that are packed to the gills with fights, battles, campaigns, they spout heroic deeds of wartime derring-do from the earliest of times to post Hiroshima warfare, from the depth of the ocean to the mountains of Nepal. War, war, war. Frankly I come here to this thread to get away from all that killing and general unpleasantness.
