Hi,

I have a slightly frustrating issue: I have sent back my TFs to Africa to prep for an invasion - 3 of them are prepping and the others are not. I assign a target hex but they just will not accumulate prep points, whilst those 3 others are happily prepping on.

What am I doing wrong? What could be the cause here?

Have the feeling that it must be something simple but can't find it.

Do they have a combat unit stacked with them?

Yes all TFs have but then some don't prep.

Is there any reason at all why this should be? I returned all TFs back to African ports in that Battleground Italy scenario. So each African port has one.
What could be wrong?

You can attach saves in a zip file here, or send saves to 2by3@2bygames.com. Ideally one in your turn and one in the German turn (autosaves would be good). Thanks.

Rule 5.4.4 is the key to why you have some HQ not prepping:

Armored divisions and hq units other than amphibious hq units cannot participate in amphibious invasions and will never gain preparation points, even if stacked in the same hex as an amphibious hq unit.

Ah if things were only that simple :)
Or is a tank brigade not considered armored? Probably got confused there.

BTW it might be worth repeating this rule about armored divisions in Chapter 16 when Amphib is discussed, because I know I was lookinf there for it. Chapter 5 is titled "Game Interface", I didn't think of reading about amphib invasion details there.

You are considering the wrong bit...the Rule is Armoured Divisions and you have a Brigade so all is good.

Yes, I agree it should have been in the other section of the manual. When I went to look for the rule I knew existed, it took me some time to find it as I also expected it to be in 16. Sorry about that.
