Hi folks, just getting into this fine looking game. One thing that strikes me. I really like the silhouette graphics at maximum zoom but much prefer the NATO counters as you zoom out. It would be nice to have an option to automatically change to NATO when not at maximum zoom. A minor thing but I find myself constantly hitting the 1 or 2 hotkey depending on my zoom level.

Cheers,
Chris

I like this idea.

Can't do anything about options without changing the program, but there's a really simple mod solution for that.

Just replace the maximum zoom silhouette graphics with the game's nato counter graphics.

It's not a perfect fix, but it should get you to approximately where you want to be.

I don't worry about it much because I never use the silhouette graphics, but if I did, I'd probably mod them back to the old style infantry figures (the groups of figure in the infantry display) and would experiment with shrinking them down as an alternative to the white silhouettes.

But I'm not planning on doing this because it's something I don't really care about and I have a very long list of unfinished mods for other games that I do care about and not enough time to work on them.

After playing a bit more I don't mind either of the mid zoom graphics but I would rather replace the extreme zoom out graphics with NATO. I thought I could just copy over the non-NATO graphics with the NATO ones but I can't find them anywhere. Are they somewhere I could find and replace?

Thanks,
Chris

Look in the smallgphx folder next to the siluets folder (you have to do it for each zoom level).

I looked in there but I don't see any of the smallest graphics for non-NATO symbols. The tiny tank graphic for example.

Sorry, I thought you couldn't find the nato folder. The Eskubi graphics are in the siluets folder.

The path to the folder is at the top of the screenshot.

Thanks Philippe, but it's these little graphics that I'm trying to replace with NATO symbols - but can't find.

The folder that has the graphics you want to replace looks like this (and you can see the path at the top of the screenshot):

The Nato counters that you want to replace them with looks like this (and once again the path is at the top of the screenshot):

Note that this is a modded copy of DCB, so the siege artillery unit has an artillery symbol -- the unmodded version uses an infantry symbol.

You really need to spend more time looking inside each of the graphics folders to familiarize yourself what is inside of them if you're going to try to make a mod.

Thanks Philippe. I'll take a look when I have time tomorrow. I assumed that folder held the medium zoom graphics. For example I can't see the extreme zoom out cavalry graphic there.

Cheers,
Chris

For extreme zoom out you need to look inside BarbSmall. It's all in there.

Thanks Philippe, I was just looking in the Barb folder. I see them now!

Chris
