avers246 -> error with pacific bellum mod (1/24/2017 9:41:33 PM)

hey guys, im trying to use bellum map mod v2, but it gives me an error message, do i need to cyhange the resolution or how do i fix this?

MakeeLearn -> RE: error with pacific bellum mod (1/24/2017 9:46:13 PM)

what does the error msg say?

MakeeLearn -> RE: error with pacific bellum mod (1/24/2017 9:47:40 PM)

did you move the stock map files or rename them?

btd64 -> RE: error with pacific bellum mod (1/24/2017 10:07:43 PM)

Post the error message. There is not enough info here. What I do is copy the map over the Vanilla map. Replacing it....GP

The files themselves should not cause any error. Missing files or misnamed files would be the most likely culprit.

Version 3 with the improved rails and roads will be available soon!

the error message says, error could not load map.

How do you install it? maybe i installed it incorrectly, i only used JSGME.

MakeeLearn -> RE: error with pacific bellum mod (1/25/2017 12:27:09 PM)

The problem maybe with JSGME.

Look in your art folder and see if it loaded the new maps.

example: C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\ART

The main files used by the program are named in the following format:

WPEH00.bmp
WPEH01.bmp
WPEH02.bmp
WPEH03.bmp
......
WPEH41.bmp

42 files. As you see in the pic I have multiple copies of the same map renamed. You may have to load them by hand. Just rename the stock maps with extra letters or move them to a new folder..

Reg -> RE: error with pacific bellum mod (1/25/2017 10:50:52 PM)

I use JSGME to swap maps out all the time.

As stated above the trick is to ensure the map panel files are in a folder called 'Art' inside the JSGME repository.

ie. I have a folder called "...\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\JSGME\Pacifica Bellum Map\Art" which contains the map panels files.

This ensures the files go into the correct location when enabled.
("...\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\Art")

add the command line switch -px1680 –py1050 where the numbers are the resolution you want.

The new map V3 is now available... Install it by hand into the art folder after backing up the stock files.

Right click to edit the Properties on the “Quick Start” shortcut to the game (located in your Start Menu folder for War in the Pacific: Admiral’s Edition). Do not edit the default desktop link, which points to an “autorun.exe” as that won’t work. You have to use the Quick Start link which points directly to the game executable. You’ll want to add these to the end of the “Target” field to get them to work.

An example command line is
"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -altFont -deepColor -w -px1680 -py1050 -fixedArt -SingleCpuOrders -dd_sw

If you look through the "Tech Support" subforum you will find many many threads on this very issue. [:)]

A couple of references to exactly what the switches do are listed below.

Best of luck.

avers246

As Reg said.

Were you experiencing lag? Most people do without the command switches. You should notice a difference in the game. keep us posted.

avers246 -> RE: error with pacific bellum mod (1/30/2017 11:20:38 PM)

i haven't noticed any difference, i've entered various commands and nothing is happening or changing.

MakeeLearn -> RE: error with pacific bellum mod (1/31/2017 1:14:21 AM)

You have to create a new shortcut to the "War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" And not use the shortcut(autorun.exe) created by the install.
