finished the first battl ein the guadalcanal campaign.my forces were :1 batt. usmc infantry supported by 1 co. usmc raiders and eng. units as well as 1 plt. of light tanks and 75 mm packs.
took alot of casualties getting across the various fords and bridges of the river as well as taking the base camp on the grassy knoll.
some advice:when crossing the river , cross fast , keep your troops dispersed and use ypur arty to provide smoke to cover your movement. most of my casualties were from air attacks and from hidden bunkers and caves.
rely on using a point element when moving in order to avoid having your entire plt. wiped out by the abundant jap snipers and fixed pos.
looking forward to playing out the rest of the campaign.
