Dang, sounds like my dream job! But, I'm a Chemical Engineer and only medium-good at Lua. Maybe I'll study up!

Ah know a bunch of Chem engineers. Unique group! Can never get enough of the playing with proteins jokes.

Ha, yes, we were the wild bunch in college. Other engineering disciplines hated us.

There was a class called Process Control...heavy nasty differential equation math..very tough. After it was over, the teacher (a young guy) held an "Out of Control" party at his house. The most nutso party I have ever attended.

Good luck with the hire.

As an undergraduate we shared a building with ChemE and PetroE (I'm a nuclear engineer). We had a saying. "Chem's and Petro's have more fun and make more money" :-) I never really thought either of those were true. We were all there long hours. Very long hours. And we were the 3 highest paid majors out of college of any degree. At that time.

Wait. I am a retired chemist who partnered with ChemEs for 35 years. Great guys. But they "hated" me since the young marketing babes had to go through me since the R&D chemists were always assigned project leadership. That's the norm in consumer products. The ChemEs always traveled more and knew their way around foreign countries including the best places to eat and drink. I keep in contact with the ChemEs more than any group.

Jeez to bad Matrix wasn't opening up a nuclear powered meth lab[:D] They'd be good to go.

Dang! This would be my dream job and I'm fully qualified for it! Except I have a Computer Science degree instead of Software Engineering.

One of the reasons I picked up CMANO was that it reminded me of a project I worked on in the '80s. Officially known then as the IFFN JTF, that later become MSIM for DMOC. Ah, the good old days! Making and playing real world sims and getting paid for it too![8D]

Well, if we can't do that in real life, we could sim the lab with player controlled heroes and bad guys. Of course it would have to be the dreaded 1st person shooter. COOP would be a must.
