professorhex -> 2.2.8 to 2.3.4 (2/2/2017 5:52:00 PM)

Is it possible to upload save game files saved in version 2.2.8 to the new 2.3.4?

Need to know before I update. Thanks.

Yes, but going the other direction - by editing the version number in the game save - does not work.

Thanks Paul.

Do I have to edit the save game number to upload a 2.2.8 save to 2.3.4?

I have opened older saved scenarios with newer versions of the game without any problems and did not need to edit the files. There is not any problem with that, that I am aware of.

However, as Paul mentioned, not possible to open a newer version of the saved games with an other version of the game.

Loading older saved games using a newer version of the program is not a problem. I have thousands of saved games, going back at least as far as version 00.02.01.02, that restore cleanly with no trouble.

However, the program checks whether you are using an old version of the program to restore a saved game that was made using a newer version of the program. In that case it stops, with a warning message.

Thanks all for the info and assurances. Everything seems to work.
