I looking around using the editor, I noticed two items: Research Center and Mercenary Base. How does one activate them so that they can be built by engineers?

To make the factory buildable you would need to do the following in the LT screen, IIRC:

First go under "Statistics":

1. Change "Buildable" to "true".
2. Set an "EP Cost" to a desired amount (see the other factories for comparison).
3. Set "SupplyCost in ProdPoints" to a desired amount.
4. Set "PoliticalPoint Cost" to a desired amount.
5. You probably want to set "NoHQ" to "False".

Second go under "Statistics2" and make some changes:

1. Set "VarType" to "raw" if you want building the factory to consume raw when built
2. Set "Qty" next to "raw" to whatever value you wish.

Third go under "AI Autobuild" and make some changes:

1. Set "AI Can Free Build" to "true" if you want the AI to build them for no cost to it.

Maybe someone else can help me here but I'm not sure if "AI Prio Mod Event" needs to be given a value in order for the AI to build them or not. Same with "AIAfterBuildEvent", I think those variable call up events in the code to do something but I'm not sure what it is. Maybe one of the more seasoned veterans can explain it.
