A problem is that the -X NoEncryption option only applies to the game engine. If you launch a PBEM or other two-player game via the frontend, there is no way it can pass the -X option to the game engine. So effectively you can't use player-modified .oob and other data files in two-player games, only in solo play. But you can do this: After testing changes to your satisfaction, you can send your modified files to the Dev Team (or post them here). We have a standing offer to encrypt user modified data files. Jason Petho says he would be happy to do it. It's nothing personal. It works this way for everybody.
