WIF_Killzone -> NetPlay - A Major Milestone? (2/28/2017 10:30:35 PM)

Looks like we have a major milestone in the form of NetPlay - MultiPlayer, great news!!

I would like to ask a few questions about NetPlay if I could:

High level summary of how it works (or link?)?
Deficiencies?
Is it ready for mainstream use?
Must you both be playing at the same time?
Future plans?

Not sure what you are referring to regarding multiplayer. At this point Netplay only works for 2 players, though you can work around that using screen sharing services like Skype and TeamViewer.

You can see details about Netplay setup and basics of how it works in the manuals for the game. Just search the index for Netplay.

There are a few glitches that so far we have been able to work around to get past, but mainstream is still a bit optimistic for the current open beta.

Both players need to play at the same time. It is synchronous with alternating between Axis and Allies for action and reaction within an impulse and between phasing and non-phasing.

The last future plans I saw mentioned addressing the current defects to allow for an upgraded general release in March, but with additional scenarios (2) and several of the additional optional rules to be completed before the game is enhanced to allow for more than 2 players.

Read this thread to get more about those:

It is from 2015, but we are not nearly finished phase 0.
