Excroat3 -> New Scenario for Testing: Southern Brawl (The War That Never Was), 1989 (3/5/2017 8:38:53 PM)

This scenario is based on the air battle between NATO and WP forces, specifically Greece and Turkey vs Romania, Bulgaria, and Albania on the 2nd day of WW3 in The War That Never Was's universe. Playable as NATO.
Scenario Description:
July 15th, 1989

1 day into World War 3, and Greece and Turkey are already beginning to crack under Soviet, Bulgarian, and Romanian pressure. The skies over Northern Greece and the Bosphorous Strait have been surrendered to Warsaw Pact forces, who roam freely over the retreating Greek and Turkish armies. A new day brings new hope, but also dread at what the Warsaw Pact forces will do today. The Turkish and Greek air forces are given one job: Stall the Warsaw Pact air offensive, or die trying!




Let me know what you guys think! Also, if you have an idea of a title that is better than "Southern Brawl", let me know!

Getting File not found error. Have had this a couple times on scenarios I post. If you simply edit the msg, delete the file that is there and re-upload it usually works fine.

Ok. Uploaded a new file, with some changes I just made, like scoring and a couple of other events. I like the names!

Some very intense A2A work with fairly well matched forces! I was able to keep a 2.1/1 ratio for the first 40 min and decided that I'll need to start over with a different strategy - NATO cannot survive at that rate.

Good fun.

Only comment so far is to put the Ftrs on surge.

There are definitely a couple of nasty surprises after the 40min mark, so I'm going to make a few more greek and turkish aircraft ready at scenario start, as well as adding a US ANG squadron of F-4s, on top of the quick turnaround.

Good choice for a scenario. Im doing one based on the 1973 naval standoff between the 6th Fleet and the 5th Eskadra, so this will be an interesting contrast.

Resurrecting this thread with a new version, updating db and switching a few units around. Please give it another playthrough and let me know what you guys think!

Weird, I downloaded and opened the attached file myself with no problems. Are you sure you are running the latest version, with the most updated DB? That may be the issue. Anyone else having problems opening the attachment?

I am running most recent version. Re-downloaded file and works now. First dl must have just lost a zero or one between me and the server!
