I started the game with my internet connection closed and the game would not start. Enabled the connection and the game started fine. Seriously? We need internet to play?

Nope you don't.

Let's go back a step, what version do you have (steam or direct download), and what exactly happened when the 'the game would not start'.

Even if you have a steam version then you do not need internet to play. This so called "Offline Mode" can be activated in steam.

If you have the steam version, steam has to be running in offline mode for you to start it (or any steam game) offline, unless you were already logged into steam when the connection was disabled, ive had situations where steam servers went offline for maintenance as usual while I was playing and there was no issue.

I'm not sure about the non-steam version, but I think you need internet to set it up and such (enter product key and whatnot). I don't know if this was you first time trying to run CMANO.

If it wasn't, this is strange, as once you activate you copy, you should be able to Run CMANO offline with no issues.

It doesn't work for all Steam games, but for some you can also navigate to the game's directory (eg C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Command Modern Air Naval Operations) and open the .exe file without being in Steam or online.

Hi, I don't have Steam version. Game does look for Internet connection for news but will start if there is no connection. Guess I got a glitch and it was not responding, or I didn't wait long enough. It is working fine now.
