hi, congratulations for the forum, im form Argentina and im a airsoft player and fan player of the CC series, im concept artist for videogames too, and have this crazy idea about make a mod of close combat but in the terrain where we play airsoft, to make tactics and to imagine new games, using like image for the map the google earth photos of the airsoft playgrounds. im not a programer and just want to know if this is posible and if i need to know about programming to make it.

Hi Shawn, - Yes its possible to use a photo or google earth image as base for a map. One forum member on closecombatseries.net has just done it. See this thread : closecombatseries

To code a map with elements and elevation and create the necessary files you need a program called 5cc. - It can be found in download section at the website I linked.

No programming is necessary to make CC maps or mods. In fact as an artist you will have an advantage in creating your map images. The 5CC tool mentioned above wll enable you to place building images, define terrain and elevation, and export all of the map files needed with the exception of the Mapname.btd file [victory locations] for which there is a separate tool.
