So this arrived through the post over the weekend. No, it's not the Kohima/Imphal battles but the Battle of the Admin Box. Astonishingly HQ staff, signalers, muleteers and assorted other s assisted by a squadron of M3s and a battalion of the KOSB held off IJA attacks night after night.
Inevitably some of it is quite harrowing such as when the Main Dressing Station is over run.
Sadly the story is only told from the British side as it seems Indian and Japanese vets are either hard to find or reticent about coming forward.
