davidachamberlain -> Setup overstack digress bug - 2.04.03 (4/27/2017 1:35:40 PM)

When I finish the setup, I discover that there was overstacking (after trying to assign aircraft to carriers). After Initiative, it goes through the Overstacking digression and then will not get past that step.

This type of problem has occurred through several versions and has happened from return to base as well. My only recourse has been to go back to before where the overstacking occurred to redo without overstacking. The overstacking was not detected (with any errors) prior.

After restoring this file, it will go through initiative and weather then the overstacking digression where you will have the ability to destroy a couple of overstacked items, but you can go no further.

If I load this game, I get a message that the game is damaged...

Okay. Works for me, but I get stuck.

How about you try this scenario during setup.

Add extra carrier planes to a setup location such that the extra would result in overstacking on the port.

I know that I should not be able to do that, but when I did (happened twice with Japan and CW), the overstack digression occurred.

MWIF has a bug in it that if you put too many CVP on a carrier during setup, the game seems gets damaged.

Understood.

If Steve has it on the list, then it will get addressed in due course. For now, the work around is to go back to the setup of the major power with the problem.

I have a similar problem with Return to Base. You can overstack INF (somehow) and then it gets stuck at the beginning of the turn in the same way. The work around is to go back to Return to Base (Autosave) and fix that problem. I guess it might be better than losing the unit.

I have a crash on an overstack digression off of the weather phase. The GE CAV sinks into a melting lake, and the game hangs.

I don't know if it is the same bug.

I believe I also hit this bug. After I destroy the P-40C Tomahawk to rectify a overstack situation the game hangs.

Game turn attached. Just end the naval move for all allied powers to repeat the bug.

The two last bugs are a different bugs than the one with the CVP. It's a new one, too. Thanks for catching it.

MWIF refuses to go back to the right place in the sequence of play after correcting the overstacking.

All these overstacked bugs are due to the same mistake I made.[:(] An = sign should have been a not equal sign.
