Digs -> Mouse troubles (4/30/2017 7:05:58 PM)

I'm having issues selecting units and dragging them; lassoing a group, and issuing orders. I can select a unit and try to drag it, but then it drops the unit like I released the left mouse button even though I didn't. Same goes for issuing orders. It's the only game I have mouse troubles with, and I have a lot of games!.

OS: Windows Vista 32-bit with SP2
Memory: 2814MB RAM
DirectX Version: 11
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8200 256MB
Graphics Driver Version: 9.18.0013.4181
Monitor: Acer X203H
Game Resolution: 1600 x 900 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Mouse: Wireless Logitech M505 Laser
Audio: Realtek

Edit: The game is patched to v1.02 and I'm using the "Matrix Games" version, (not Steam). I also have the games shortcut compatibility "Privileges" set to "Run this program as an administrator".

I've tried unpairing the wireless mouse, then pairing it again. Uninstalled the game, removed all leftover files and deleted remaining registry entries; deleted Windows prefetch and user temp files; restarted the computer; temporarily disabled AVG free Anti-Virus, then installed the game again; patched it to v1.02. Restarted the computer and played the game once more; still have the same problem.

I have to be honest, it sounds like a driver bug. Do you have any mouse 'helper' services running that you could try disabling?

Cheers

I closed Logitech SetPoint from the system tray and gave it another try, but it didn't make any difference. As it turns out "1600x900" was too much for my system to handle, I changed the resolution to "1152x864" and the problem went away. I had no problem playing at that resolution (my monitors native resolution) with the older games, but GTC is 32-bit vs 16-bit.

Hmmm - weird! Perhaps the underlying window was being created incorrectly.

Cheers
