InfiniteMonkey -> How to Make Fonts, etc. in WiTP:AE "Bigger" in Windows 10 (5/7/2017 1:40:53 PM)

Spend a few minutes learning how to setup and use Windows Magnifier:

Works fine in Windows 10 with WitP:AE for me. You can increase the magnification to a multiple (2x, 3x, etc.) that meets your needs. You can turn it on easily with Windows key shortcuts. Win+"+" activates / increases magnification, while Win+"-" reduces magnification. Win-Esc turns it off.

IM,

Great tip! I know that others have suggested this tool before, but I did not realize that it was so flexible. [:)]

It also works fantastically under Windows 7. You might change your thread title so lure in Windows 7 people who otherwise might not have a look.

Here is the page for support of the windows 7 usage:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/11542/windows-use-magnifier

I have set it up to use 'full screen' (the magnifier mode, not AE full-screen mode), because that way you can see the larger pop-u displays for bases that have a lot of ships.

I also set the increments to 25% (read the instructions in the link for how to do that) when pressing Windows-+ and Windows-- (Windows key plus + key and Windows key plus - key), but the magnifier will always start at 200%, then you adjust the zoom downwards if needed.

Note that I did *not* test this with AE in full-screen mode, but I always enter orders in windowed mode anyway, so this is great!

So Windows-+ to switch on the magnifier, then Windows-ESC to switch it off is so quick and easy that it really should alleviate a lot of eye strain!

Thanks! [8D]

Actually a Win7 engine feature that works for any Win7 engine OpSys (Win7, 8, 10).
