Cousteau -> [FIXED B936.12] 1.12 build 936.11 (patched or not) UI Freeze (5/17/2017 6:44:21 PM)

Hi,

Since the 1.12 release i have ui (and game) freezing every 2 to 5seconds for about 2 to 5 seconds, no matter the game is in pause or in time compression.

I had this kind of freeze on previous versions, but it was each 3 to 5 minutes and was removed by clicking on the icon on the task bar so it was not very boring. Now this trick has no effect and the game is just unplayable (i am not a zen guy).

I was not using the autosave option, and to try accelerating the game i had removed the high fidelity mode and the no pulse mode. the freeze cycle is now around 10 seconds for a 2 to 3 seconds freezing. it's better but it's still not compatible with my zen level.

is anyone have an idea ?

Hi,

This is strange indeed. Is your version of Windows French-locale, by any chance ?

Also, is this happening on a specific scenario or in all scenarios?

Cousteau -> RE: 1.12 build 936.11 (patched or not) UI Freeze (5/17/2017 9:47:07 PM)

Windows 10 french (but no lazy french function [;)]) regional settings : french
8 Gb Ram - i7 2.80 Ghz - Radeon R9 200 2 Gb

old but efficient computer, the PCI bus is the weakness (2.0). When running Command, processors are around 2% load, memory is arround 40 % and disk do almost nothing

The effect is more important with huge scenario (korean missile crisis for example) but exists with empty scenario. Consulting the DB is impossible after 30/40 seconds no matter the scenario loaded (wait cycle after each mouse click or mouse wheel roll during 5 to 10 seconds).

Can you please phrase that a bit more exactly? I honestly do not understand what you are trying to say here.

Are you saying that when starting a scenario, 30-40 seconds after the scenario starts, you click on the DB link on the Unit Status panel and the database viewer does not show up? Or are you saying that 30-40 seconds after opening the DB viewer, the UI becomes unresponsive?

If you can provide a precise step-by-step sequence that reliably causes the issue, we can attempt to reproduce the issue here and see what is causing it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

i made some tests yeasterday to see if something changed. Still the same.

The DB freeze after 30 to 40 seconds of use. And after the first freeze, it freeze on each user input for a less time than the first but it's boring anyway.

To resume : i have a UI cyclic lag problem (really cyclic - that's what is strange because the computer is not stressed), more intensive if the scenario is a huge one but still existing with an empty scenario. The cycle is respected even if the game is in pause. I had the problem before the 1.12 release but it was less (very less) intense.

Hi, can you apply the B936.12 hotfix and try again. Thanks!

Cousteau -> RE: 1.12 build 936.11 (patched or not) UI Freeze (5/20/2017 9:26:57 AM)

you are my best friend for life [&o]

i always have some freeze but they are really shorter and the frequencie of that damned cycle is really longer. i tried the new build with korea missile crisis scenario at a time where all the north korea air force was in the air.

Many thanks.

[:)] Thanks. We'll try to tweak this even more.
