Daniele -> Command: Chains of War is Released! (5/18/2017 1:16:37 PM)

It’s 2018, the near future and the World is on the verge of a Third World War.

Tensions in the Korean peninsula region are erupting on a scale rarely seen before. Many countries have pursued particularly muscular policies in recent years, hardening a situation, ready to light the fuse at any moment.

China’s political elites are seeing the chance to fulfill their ambitions of a Chinese sphere of influence over the Pacific, and even if the United States are refocusing their military efforts in a revamped War on Terror, they haven’t left their interests in the region unprotected.

Now the question is not when, but who will be the first to strike.

Watch the trailer!

Chains of War, the latest installment in the C: MANO series is finally here! Be ready to face the apocalypse of an ultra-technological war, where all the rules have been subverted!

Tactical EMP weapons, railguns, high-energy lasers, communications disruption by network/cyber-attacks– and more! – have been implemented, making Command: Chains of War more challenging and realistic than ever!

Load mobile forces on ships, aircraft and even submarines, and unload them on any suitable point on the battlefield, with the new “Cargo, landing and airdrop operations” feature!

Are you ready for the next generation of war?

Chains of War comes as part of a massive update for CMANO (you can check the version 1.12 changelog here) and can be played as a separate game (with the possibility to upgrade it to the base game with all the available database entries and scenarios at any point in time). Alternatively, it can be integrated as a new set of scenarios for owners of the original Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations Game of Year Edition!

18 mins left on the download! Cant wait. Congratulations Team!!!!!

Edit to add: Just been playing around with some of the new features in some custom test scens. All I can say is WOW!! You have hit it out of the park once again. Since the early Beta, It has been truly a joy to see "Red Pill" evolve. Thank you so much!![&o][&o]

Stardog765 -> RE: Command: Chains of War is Released! (5/18/2017 1:23:10 PM)

Congrats! Just installed.
Quick question and maybe this has been addressed already and I couldnt find it but has the manual been updated to include the new features from this expansion?
Just wanted to check.

ultradave -> RE: Command: Chains of War is Released! (5/18/2017 1:41:42 PM)

All right! Paid but since I'm sitting in an airport and it's a 4GB download, that's going to have to wait a bit :-)

Happy to contribute for the new features. I figure we've gotten so much for free with updates that gave us new UI, features, and DB entries. $20 seems a small price to pay for new content. Quite a bargain actually. Keep up the great work guys. And this forum is always a wealth of info.

Thanks much VPaulus, that worked!

MichaelJCuozzo -> RE: Command: Chains of War is Released! (5/18/2017 5:35:45 PM)

No Communications Disruptions included in this Add on, even though it was promised?? You cheap bastards LMAO

DWReese -> RE: Command: Chains of War is Released! (5/18/2017 5:43:12 PM)

Hi Daniele,

I have a quick question. I just purchased COW. I now have both CMANO and COW icons on my screen. Clicking on either one seems to lead to the same place.

So, does it matter which one that I click on to start the game? I seem to have the same access to options and to the scenarios regardless of which icon that I use to start the game.

Thanks

Doug

It doesn't. There is only one main exe file. It does not matter which way you launch it.

DWReese -> RE: Command: Chains of War is Released! (5/18/2017 6:41:59 PM)

Thanks for the response. That is what I figured, but I didn't want to miss anything but potentially doing it the wrong way.

Doug

I hate to be cheap, but how about the other way around? If I buy on Steam can I register it as a game on the Matrix site? It's slightly cheaper on Steam and I have some credit left.

Thank you.

So I'm assuming you have Chains of War, but do you have 'Communications Disruption' enabled in the Editor > Scenario Features + Settings ?

This is related to your post on Facebook, right? : https://www.facebook.com/groups/400225503448206/permalink/1311313579006056/

Alright then, let's have it:

1) Comms jamming

As clearly stated in this article: http://www.warfaresims.com/?p=4454 , "[NOTE: Integrated comms-jamming is a feature reserved for the Professional Edition. However, with a bit of creative work you can use the Lua API to approximate this in the commercial version of Command.]"

Comms jamming is one of the "attack vectors" for disrupting communications, and it is the only one reserved for PE (the other methods like physical incapacitation of comm devices or script-based modelling of cyber attacks etc. are available to CoW users). The effects of communication disruption are available to anyone with the CoW-license.

2) Directional EMP

As clearly stated in our recent article: http://www.warfaresims.com/?p=4479, "the v1.12 update includes omni-directional systems a.k.a “EMP grenade” types (Directional systems like the USAF-developed CHAMP are available on the Professional Edition)."

3) HGVs (Hypersonic Glide Vehicles)

We never promised them for CoW. If you claim we did, show us where.

So, to sum up: We are delivering to CoW owners exactly what we promised. Any claims otherwise are FUD.

ultradave -> RE: Command: Chains of War is Released! (5/18/2017 8:24:23 PM)

As we used to say in the Army, don't let the ********s get you down :-)

HalfLifeExpert -> RE: Command: Chains of War is Released! (5/18/2017 11:19:18 PM)

Finally bought and unlocked on Steam! I played around with a couple of the scenarios so far, I need to spend a little time preparing to tackle them, which shouldn't be as much of a problem now that I am done with school for good!

Also, I fired up the bonus scenario "Reds". Took a look at what was available to me, and I shouted with joy at what was included at Andersen AFB in Guam:

SR-72A Aurora [Senior Citizen]

http://cmano-db.com/aircraft/3318/

[X(]THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! [&o] I had been itching for an opportunity to try that thing out! For fun, I launched it and sent it to the Sea of Japan at max speed (2900 kts), it only took less than 40 minutes to reach the area [:D]

Gunner98 -> RE: Command: Chains of War is Released! (5/18/2017 11:48:53 PM)

OK - time to get cracking on some amphibious stuff in Northern Fury!

ColonelMolerat -> RE: Command: Chains of War is Released! (5/18/2017 11:49:47 PM)

Chains of War and Arma 3 Jets released in the same week?

And I've put aside money for them already?

And I've barely played computer games for the last month because of a training course?

And now I've got a week off?

Time to stock up on tinned food, flush the phone, and lock the doors!!!
