I don't want to hijack an AAR, but I am curious how some of the non-historical games are setup. I am trying to re-create the approach and can't seem to figure it out.

Does the Japanese select© the scenario and then edit changes in the editor. or are all the changes made directly in game prior to the first turn being sent? I notice people reference testing the first move, so I assume there is a saved scenario being used.

Thanks

The moves made are the player's decision. You set the switches in the game start screen to turn off surprise and historic opening and then just choose a different strategy.

In the editor, you can add new ships and devices, change the start location and makeup of TFs, air and ground units, etc. It does not matter which of the PBEM player creates the modded scenario in the editor, as long as the identical file is used by both players.

In PBEM, the Japanese player always starts the game. It is essential that both agree on the switch settings for the first turn - some choices get set in cement when the first turn runs. Some players share a screenshot of their game start switch positions.
