BryanMelvin -> UV - A find (5/8/2003 10:27:03 PM)

I found UV at a local software store and purchased it as it saved time from ordering it ;)

I updated it to latest 2.30 update and so far it plays well for the scale it uses.

Dose anyone know if plans are in the work for a carrier battle game on the same scale as AH's Flattop?

Welcome aboard Marauder! I never played AH's Flattop but I assume its carrier tactical combat, perhaps like Carrier Strike or Carriers -at-War(which is still available from Tiller's group)? I see that Naval Warfare Simulations (www.navalwarfare.net) will put out a carrier warfare game but I don't know what stage it is in. You could ask at their forums. good luck. BTW UV is best played pbem.

Yes, it is like the old computer game Carrier Strike but a board game version.

Drex, As soon as I become more in tune to the game - a pbem game sounds like fun! :D

Let me know when you're ready. Check out that website because they have naval boardgames there also. Although I cut my teeth on boardgames back in the 70's, when computers came into the picture, I never looked back. Still boardgames still have their place and perhaps always will have.
