mikmykWS -> Ship Group info needed. (7/12/2017 7:31:37 PM)

Hi All. I'm looking to update the various ship group imports and wondering if anybody can give me any known ship or carrier group compositions. I've already scoured most mil and photo sites so basic googling etc. covered. Looking for old unclassified stuff, particularly UK, French and Soviet groups If you served in a couple and its ok to post them please do let me know. Thanks!

You mean concrete examples (from photographs, documents) or the sample composition of groups for different purpose from tactical guides?

Yeah exactly. the goal is to build out a good set of imports for players to use or use as a reference when building their own groups. The research method is studying historical pictures and orders of battle. Key data points are ship names and date and if possible air group.

Thanks

Mike

BTW you notice how few Kirov was tasked as an escort for Kievs etc.? Kresta's got that role mostly where as the CGNs seem to be the group center. Although this is just anecdotal it seems Western sources wheren't always correct on group compositions.

This is enough interesting topic - opinion of Soviet Navy on role of Kiev class. A little bit latter I will write my notice about it.
