jeffk3510 -> Missing Scenarios (7/16/2017 9:36:42 PM)

Hey guys - no biggy here.

Haven't played this in a long time, and not really getting back into it.. I just wanted to mess around with a few small scenarios and noticed 001 - 006 are missing when I load up my game.

I honestly don't recall if it's official or beta that I'm running - both appear to be missing the 6 scenarios.

I just downloaded 1126b for beta - is that the most current? Also, what is the latest official patch?

I haven't changed or messed with anything in a few years, and now they're gone...

Also, I just noticed the ships are missing as well on their own screen.. see below.

A third, the music no longer works.

So

1 - scenario 001 -006 are missing
2 - no music
3 - ship images are missing

1) As for the missing scenarios, see if you can use these updates as replacements:
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3198064

Just make sure you manually change the install directory for each install file to the SCEN subdirectory in your WitPAE folder - otherwise they'll dump all the files into the main folder.

2) I have no audio myself after a return to the game. [:(]

3) Are all the ship images missing or just some?

As a 1st step, check your ART/AlliedShip_Back subdirectory in the WitPAE to see if there are .bmp files there.

And I believe 1126a is the latest official, 1126b the latest beta - but I've been away awhile so I could be wrong; however, it doesn't appear from a 1st glance at the forums that those have changed.

You the man

Were you also able to resolve the picture and music problems?

For the music, the best thing to try first is if it is turned off in the Preferences menu of the Main Menu:

Tried everything I can think of. Nothing.

I'll work on it one of these evenings.

The first thing I would try is a reinstall of WitPAE.

You'll need the WarinthePacificAdmiralsEdition-SetupRelease-v10079DR.exe from the Matrix members page for the basic install, then the WarinthePacificAdmiralsEdition-UpdateComp-v1126a.exe official release, as well as the AEupdate1126b.exe unoffical beta files. I also install the scenario updates I linked above before starting any games.

Just make sure to backup your SAVE and ART folders if you have any saved games and/or custom art that you want to keep.

The other possible thing to try is to download and install the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010). If you're getting ANY sound though (like bomb explosions, interface clicks, etc.), this probably isn't the issue as it should be all or nothing with a DirectX issue.

I ended up re-installing.

I saved my art folder, save files, and a few scenarios. Works like a charm now.

I don't know what happened but a lot of files were missing. More than just art and sound files.

Thanks.

Sounds like you missed a step in updating, like not installing the latest official patch before going to the Beta.
