Norfolk holds the Atlantic fleet, Nimitz and the Pacific fleet in San Diego. Standard.

We have a Catalina in Miami. Sub squadron in LA.

UK set up. RN Home Fleet is in Portsmouth, Gort good to go somewhere.

Slow cruisers in Scapa and on the Clyde. Fast cruisers in Plymouth (and across the Ocean in Halifax Nova Scotia.)

Royal Engineers garrison Malta. The Italians have set up to threaten Tunisia. Wavell has a reasonably strong and fast-moving force in Egypt.

The Queens start in Cape Town. There's another transport ready to take the Ulster Militia out of Belfast. Both have cruiser escorts.

Just one British factory idle on the eve of war, and all the available oil put to use. The French will no doubt soon want some of it.

All three HQs deployed against Poland as the Germans take no chances in the east. Fleet is dispersed around the Baltic with the largest group in Stettin.

The Germans launch three successful attacks in Poland (Danzig, Poznan, the Vistula bend north of Warsaw) and the war is on. Ground strikes missed Rydz, but the Polish navy was destroyed in the assault on Danzig.

France and CW took naval moves and put their main fleets to sea.

Six French cruisers entered the Baltic, but couldn't find German convoys (9&10).

RAF Blenheims raided Essen and French bombers hit Stuttgart, but no damage (3&4).

German fighters react when the Polish air force launches a ground strike on Rundstedt's HQ.

The Polish airforce is interned upon landing.
