SaintEx -> A surprisingly quick question about production (7/19/2017 8:51:31 AM)

Quick question: I've played AE for years, always against the AI as allies (I'd love to play PBEM but undoubtedly couldn't play regularly enough to avoid being annoying). Anyway, I've finally decided to play as Japan. I've studied up on the excellent guidelines available, am using WITP tracker (thank you!!) and I still have a couple of production questions.

Notably, I switched a lot of factories (PDU on) at the start, but they aren't repairing (I'm currently on December 21, 1941). In WITP tracker they all have warnings: Sy=12345, or whatever number, ranging from 47 (Nagaoka) to 1321870 (Tokyo). I assume this means something along the lines of that I'm missing enough supply to actually carry out the repairs, but it's a bit of a mystery. There's little in the manual on factory repair. Can someone help me understand what happened, and what I can do about it?

Minimum 10000 supply on base for any industries to repair.
Other than that, R&D factories' repair is random and pretty rare for airframes that are far away in the future

Most of the cities it's enough to set the supply required to 5 or 6k but some should be maxed out like Maebashi and Gifu.

PaxMondo -> RE: A surprisingly quick question about production (7/20/2017 12:47:39 AM)

No need to ever set above 4K (puts 12K supply at base if available). The way the logic works is that there has to be 10K min supply at the base at the start of the turn. Repair 9 factories at a base leaving you 1000 supply at the end does work. Very few bases have the ability to repair more than 11 factories in a turn, and if you are, then you need to read Mike Solli's AAR again. [;)]

Excellent! That's exactly the info I needed. And yes, thank you Mike Solli! I hadn't read that AAR. Extremely useful. I should have read it before embarking on all this, but I'm trying to catch up now.

Here is a goal you can shoot for as Japan [:D]

Oh my, evil US subjugated Soviet Union. I always suspected them scheming about that. Uncle Josef was right not allowing their ships and airplanes on the bases

Also, didn't we screw enough Indians in North America?

Careful geofflambert. You are getting close to thread lock.

The pic is from a gentleman that took my game file and made it pretty [:)] So the US flags in the USSR are incorrect. The USSR is still alive and a valid threat. Certainly more than the Western Allies at this point [:)]
