Ilias -> Game do not using available hardware resources (8/1/2017 11:36:31 AM)

Hi, issue,
Command busying CPU and GPU only on ~30% max,
tested: highest and realtime application priority, all from US folder imported, all ships moving, whole globe visible, spinning, with each game speed:
_ 1 right click scroll taking ~1-3 seconds, far zooming (with whell) ~3secs,

Maybe i'm missing some setting up process to let the command use more system resources ?
If not, then its improvement request topic

As i could find out from debugging game do not using all video card's capabilities to draw icons, lines on map

it's only a issue if it's using a higher or high amount, like 99% or 100%, less means better use of availability resources which is good programming and written code.

to get a better understanding of a given game use, you first need to get a clean startup with less resources running, eg a clean profile or a cleaner profile which helps, with the least amount of apps and programs auto running on boot then test a given program / game and see what it's like under maximum stress, largest maps and most amount of detail on it with the maximum amount of movement on the highest setting the game can be put on, then re do the same test on the lowest amount of detail on the same map and unit scale and see the difference between the to, and also factor in what O/S is being used also, as if it's windows 10, it uses memory better and also cpu than any other O/S to date, so then retest with more O/S and print details in a graph to compare, 1 test with 1 result isn't much use and means little in testing i'm sorry to say.

and to use all a cards ability the given game would need to be written for the card and driver in use, so change either, and you'd get a different result

The some process in game going slow, while resources do not getting used, it is issue of system in game,

BF4 taking needed 70% CPU , 90% GPU on high settings without any problems,
no difference regardless of amount of other programs running (while they leaving the 30,30% for Command)
(tested with: same set as before in Command and:
1. 17 programs together taking 40,30%;
2. BF4 on settings for busy 50,60%;
)
(as expected no chance it could make anything different with Command),
also tested with same set (in Command) in unit mode, drawing cycle's duration being noticeable increased :) , max GPU load happened 37% (CPU no changes)

and probably i should post info about system (on that, yep, sor.):
Windows 10 x64
CPU: Intel Care i7-3630QM (2.40-3.2 Ghz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M (2GB, 2GB)
RAM: 16GB (Command taking ~600MB)

(Ready to do any tests, debugging to help if needed)

not another single issue posted on any slow downs as of yet on this topic, if that is what your trying to say with the version your on, might be an idea of posting some results and also some screenshots of WIP as proof of findings plus build number, plus steam or site versions so the mods here can dig deeper for you

as per guide ^^

Because recording program taking 15,20% for itself (keep that in mind) i met some problems, but:
(relatively not long time ago system was restarted)
clean (Whole system do not lagging even for second, you can see clocks in right down corner (is some jumps, but they related to recording software)):
https://youtu.be/6zXjZKIcViU
with BF4+Movavi taking >60,60% of resources (because of movavi,had to lower BF4's settings noticeable more):
https://gaming.youtube.com/watch?v=szYdHHr-bfs&feature=share
(Video without speedings >10mins)
Looked at CPU on Movavi converting video, (screenshot taken at start), during process it used 14-60% (what is plenty for the enough speed, and to keep some for use):

movaviUsingCpu.PNG
But Command is kind of game, so probably it should take more resources when available, according to that test looks like it using cores properly, so deal _possibly_ can be in written in it limit:

commandUsingCpu.PNG
(It can have cense in terms of using it with other programs which need the resources (Like VBS for example, connected to Command by DIS), but really would be great to have ability to control it (trough startup parameters for example))

(Pauses on video probably sourcing from unused GPU's abilities,
on last screenshot simulation x1200 goind with speed of ~0.5FPS, (CPU))

Command uses multiple cores & threads where it makes sense, and strict single-threading where it is necessary. Comparisons with BF4 or any other software are meaningless. Let it go.

The point is:
_ just question: is anything can be done on player end to allow Command use more system resources?
or, if answer is "no" then:
_ just request: of improvements directed on allowing Command use more system resources.

Thanks for response.

1) Yes, you can use helper apps like Process Lasso which boost priority and system resources to specific running processes, in this case Command.exe.

2) Noted.

Its nice program, and i'll keep it in toolbox, thank you for the spot,
unfortunately it does not helping Command with the issue.

Thank you for response and for attention.

Best wishes
Ilias
