LoBlo -> Use-ability Request (8/2/2017 4:07:08 AM)

A quick wish list that would make Command more usable.

1. It would be nice to be able to highlight mission objectives or high value targets in the map.

2. Searching for the right ordnance in the database is daunting. If the database had a option to filter out weapons and platforms it would be really convenient. For example, searching Russian Weapons, but then adding a filter for 'bombs', 'guided', and 'penetrator' would allow users to more easily identify the right ordnance for the desired mission.

3. Detect-ability info on the map. Most LO platforms have some way of judging their rough "detect-ability". Like submarines are aware of how much self noise they are generating against the background noise volume. B2s have awareness of emitter strength around them and when a emitter is reaching a threshhold strength to detect them.
How about some addition to a platforms datablock. Perhaps a "LO" at the end of the datablock to remind a player that's the platform is in a LO configuration. And when selecting a LO platform, how about the map display any emitters that are at threshold detection strength with an "*" and emitters with definite detection threshold get a "**". Adding a those symbols to the selected LO platform datablock would be useful as well (the * and **).

just my 2 cent.

Both good ideas.

For #1, what you can do for now is place a reference point next to what you want to be marked, and name it whatever you want. I personally like to use them to mark locations of first contact of an enemy task force (i.e. "Liaoning CVBG Contact Heading 134")

#2 would be a nice addition down the line, I agree.

2: +1

Thanks.

Yeah, unless their's an intimate familiarity with a nations arsenal and nomenclature already, overcoming the learning curve for any particular nations weapons capability and optimal deployment is really, really daunting and time consuming. Some would say its part of the fun, but it can be facilitated much better IMHO.

Added a 3rd request.

While we are on it ... a nice small change (I think anyway):
I would like for the OOB tree to open initially in "collapsed" format. Is there a setting for that? That would make things quicker to find.

Yes, starting with collapsed OOB tree would be nice, especially in scenarios with more units. Maybe checkbox in OOB window for collapsing/uncollapsing would be useful.

All three of these would be very useful. Good ideas
