hendriks65 -> Resolution issue (8/7/2017 7:45:59 AM)

I'm running the game in 1280/1024 from a laptop to a monitor.

Always worked but I always missed the weather part, so, in trying to fix that I have messed up badly, now the game won't launch in ANY other setting then letterbox resolution covering only the middle part of the screen.

No Idea what to do, I reverted back to the old settings, lowered screen to below 1280/1024, did a lot of things, NOTHING works...

Can't play the game as it displays on my monitor in letterbox format.

Any suggestions welcome [&o]

Hi Hendriks65, if you edited the SC3.ini file then probably the easiest thing to try is to delete the SC3.ini file found in your user folder and it will then reset to the default for your laptop.

Or did you try something else?

Thanks Hubert, in the end I got it to work by changing text size settings. By the way I can't locate that .ini file anywhere, not in my user folder and not in the game folders...searching for it delivers no results either.

I am having a similar issue. Using a laptop with external monitor. The external monitor is at 1900x1200. The game appears with the top and bottom cut off. I changed the text size to 150% in windows, which does make the game take up the whole screen, but it is then blurry. How can I change the game resolution to 1900x1200? I found the sc3.ini file, but it says not to make any changes to that.

As an update, I changed the full screen option to = 1, which seems to have fixed the problem...I hope!

Question: why are these options not in the settings within the game?

Hi Todd,

Glad to hear that you were able to sort out the issue but memory the FULL_SCREEN setting is not currently linked to any function in game, this is why it is not accessible in game, so I suspect something else had changed for you to resolve this problem.

Hubert
