For future games of this sort, what do you think of adding the ability to attach organic units to an existing unit?

Adding AA, artillery, engineers, mechanized infantry and perhaps a tank battalion an infantry, or tank unit could be interesting. Cost could be relatively high and would add a minor benefit - better offense / defense, faster entrenchment, better AA defense.

It could also be limited- a certain experience level of the unit, and/or item researched to appropriate level-Command and Control for instance before this could happen .

One thing we did consider when designing this game was how many upgrades one can easily see at a glance on a unit counter, and after some experimentation we came to see that 3 was the limit.

It doesn't necessarily have to be the same limit in future with (say) a different hex size, as that is a factor in determining the maximum unit counter size, so we'll see.

I think if we added more then as you say, it's a question of working out appropriate costs and benefits to the upgrades.
