Shannon V. OKeets -> Hot Patch version 02.05.05.02 (8/23/2017 3:00:55 AM)

Attached is a zipped file that contains the new MWIF.exe: version 02.05.05.02.

This version is virtually the same as the previous Hot Patch (version 02.05.05.00). The only change affects Head-to-head play (as described below). If you have upgraded to version 02.05.05.00, it is pointless to upgrade to this version unless you are playing a game in head-to-head mode.

Release Note for version 02.05.05.02.
o Fixed a problem in Head-to-head play with the game halting at the beginning of the US Entry subphase of the DOW phase.

The problem is still there, Steve.[:(]

it is an easy fix, just save at that phase and re-open. At least that's how I remember it.

There might have been two bugs.

I just fixed another one with the similar problem, but that was because the US was at war with all Axis major powers so the subphase US Entry should never even occur.

Is this to be patched on top of the beta? Or without the beta patch? I just bought the game - what files should I apply and in what order to get to latest version - preferably version that is commonly used for PBEM.

Also the game seems to come with some patch files with file type showing as 2 file, 3 file, 4 file etc. Are these patch files and how are they applied?

Another question, from reading the development blog posts, it seems that 2.5.5.7 will fix a couple of major bugs and is with the beta testers. Typically how long from the time it goes to beta testers (august) until it's released to public?

This patch, which contains only the MWIF.exe file, must be applied over the top of the latest public beta, which has an installer. When I say, "applied over the top", I mean the MWIF.exe in this hot patch is copied over the MWIF.exe file in the installed public beta version. Of course, before copying over a file it's best to backup the file being copied over.

You should be able to download and install the latest public beta version using the key you got when you bought MWiF. Then, backup the MWIF.exe file in your */Matrix Games/World in Flames folder and copy in the MWIF.exe file from this hot patch to get the latest public beta version.

Yes there are two interconnected bugs, before this patch only happened the second one.[&:]

Here the new one.

And here the original bug before this patch.
