HelmutHerr -> Why is Spitfire group OUT OF RANGE for an air superiority directive? (9/24/2017 5:24:30 PM)

Greetings All,

My first post for WITW. I've spent the last few months really trying to learn how to play this game after owning it since day one so I hope this doesn't end up being a stupid question. I'm playing Battle for Tunisia 43 as the Western Allies turn 1. I've created an air superiority directive for RAF Eastern Air Command near Tunis. No. 111 RAF FB sqn is OUT OF RANGE for the directive at the Souk el Khemis airbase. I transfer them to Bone airbase and they are now available for the directive. However, if I transfer them to Ain Beida or Constantine they are not in range even though the range circles seem to indicate they are in range. The situation is the same for several other air groups. If anyone can tell me what I'm missing here it would be much appreciated.

Firstly range is tracked in turn so if you move them then that is taken into consideration.

Secondly when you set an AD the area assigned has an affect. Using a smaller area can often help.

Air group have to reach all hexes of AS target box to be in range, which differs from other missions. Non-optimal staging base selection can often can make it out of range.

I played around with changing the staging base and transferring to different airbases which did have an effect on air groups being in range. I guess that air group being out of range is a combination of the transfer distance that turn and the location of the staging base. Thanks for the help.
