So how does dropping supplies to a unit affect the units movement rate for the turn. It appears a unit receiving an airdrop loses MP's, what are the rules governing this loss?

The unit loses 1/6th of it's total potential available MPs. Infantry type lose 3MPs, tank/moto brigades 5MPs, tanks 8MPs.

Best is to airdrop after the end of it's movement (e.g. just before end of turn)
i) it does not subtract any MPs from zero MPs, or less than it could if there are only a few MPs
ii) the code was changed to incur a transport cost (vehicles etc.) for moving supplies with a unit after an airdrop - drop at the end of a units movement and this can be avoided.
