RogerBacon -> Crash while saving (10/2/2017 1:01:56 PM)

I had another one of my "crash while saving the game" last night and I was so frustrated (it seems to only happen to me) that I was ready to trash the whole thing and uninstall DWU.
These crashes ONLY happen when saving and they've been with me since DWU came out. I've tried to figure out the cause but to no avail. It not memory, its not size. Last night was a 100 star 4x4 map and the game had barely begun. I just manually set my ship designs and some initial orders. I wanted to ssve the setup because I'd be doing some different things for testing and I didn't want to repeat everything. As soon as I click save As and select the filename, it crashed as it often does.
Here's the stack trace. If ANYONE has similar problems (Crash while saving) please let me know and maybe we can determine what our computers have in common.

I wish I could help, but I'm not really that computer savvy.
Usually when I'm having some kind of game related computer problem (or any computer problem) I go through the usual browser searches, process of elimination... its amazing how many times I have fixed some problem this way; but it is blind luck and stubbornness (sort of like when you kick something that's broken and it starts to work again - don't recommend you try that one at home though).
Hope you get it fixed though.

Make sure you are running the game as admin:

Open the game installation folder. Locate and select a file named "autorun.exe".
Press the right mouse button and select Properties.
Click on the Compatibility tab.
Tick the option Run this program as an administrator. Click on Apply and Ok

If you have the Steam version, please try also running Steam as administrator.

Sadly that didn't help. :(
Its not a folder permissions issue, otherwise it would crash every time I tried to save it. It only crashes about 90% of the time and only after I've played for 15-30 minutes. If anyone else has experienced issues like this I would love to compare our system stats and try and determine a common causality.

Eh... do you have more than one hard drive?
Has the hard drive you are saving to been given a maximum save file size?
I seem to remember there is a way to limit the size of files... Could be wrong though (might be getting it mixed up with trash can).
Also I presume you have checked the integrity of the hard rive and it working fine with no faulty blocks (or whatever they are called).

Yeah, I've checked those things. I have two drives and I've set save locations on both and had the same results.
Last night I updated my video driver (with great effort). I will test tonight and see if it makes a difference. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause weird problems that seem unrelated to video.

I Don't think it's Ram but might as well run Memtest on your Ram too. Just for kicks.
