Dropped a B28 Strategic bomb right on top of a KS-19 AAA battery and it destroyed everything except for...wait for it...Mk.1 Eyeball! lol

Not necessarily. Build 901 stated that there is a chance eyes caught in a nuke blast have a chance to be converted into X-Ray vision and heat ray eyes.

Its in the manual addendum pg 123.
