jph -> [ANSWRED]Question about Black Gold Blitz (11/7/2017 4:33:29 PM)

Just installed Black Gold Blitz and I see that the scenario file timestamp is 10/19/2017 and that there isn't any .ini file. Is this correct?

Also, all the special features are disabled for this scenario. In particular, "Detailed Gun Fire Control" and "Aircraft damage" are disabled. I find this rather surprising. Are there scenario design constraints that mandate these features to be disabled?

Thank you.

Noted this as well, it's a bit disappointing that there are no advanced features enabled, that no *.ini file was included and as forum Member thewood1 noted elsewhere the scenario database is DB3000 v469 but the update installs v470.

Can't speak to why "Detailed Gun Fire Control" is disabled, but "Aircraft Damage" is disabled so that "Black Gold Blitz" will work without a "Chains of War" or "Shifting Sands" expansion license. If memory serves, the devs said that DLC (as opposed to expansions) will require only the base game.

Just go into the scenario with the editor and enable "aircraft damage" this is so people without the expansion can play.

Of course, had forgotten that and you're correct regarding the disabled features but the lack of the scenario *.ini is unusual for DLC particularly as Black Gold Blitz is compiled using a database that's been superseded by the v1.13.4/5 update. Easily fixed but tweaking DLC on release day is a bit disappointing.
