Ive been playing a game today...and the ctrl key is a key that is used alot

Im using a laptop keyboard (tiny keys) and I hit that godamn start menu key more than I should
Its sends me to my destop and crashes my game

Im using windows xp professional
is there any way to disable that key from working ( I never use it anyways)

I donīt know a quick fix offhand, other then the good old "screwdriver trick" ;).

But do a search or post a thread on the Xp section of http://www.annoyances.org/

Itīs a good site for all kind of OS troubles.

Now that i think, i have never used the windows key. What a useless button. Thou the media buttons are almost as useless too, havent ever used them either.

Microsoft plot to ruin your games

And they dont provide a way to disable it

Here's a few tips. They both require the use of a registry editor though.

Unfortunately I can't test either, because my keyboard doesn't have 'windows'-keys. Would you believe, I still use the keyboard from my first own PC? And to think I bought it in 1991 :p

Isn't that only for Win95?

Registry editing isn't that difficult nor is it as dangerous as often claimed. The tips had detailed instructions on how to do it, I would recommend trying it.
