Excroat3 -> [FIXED B972.12] Aircraft Ignore Bingo (1.13 B972.11) (11/10/2017 7:37:08 PM)

See attached save, and look at the flight of 2 EF2000s coming from Iran back to Riyadh. The planes plotted their own route back around the exclusion zone encompassing Kuwait, but they ignore their bingo and stay at full throttle on the way back to their airport, meaning they run out of fuel and crash short of the airfield. If this save dosen't work, I can provide one from after the crash of the EF2000s.

Maybe i have the same

I have a mission for transfer F-22 to Bien Hoa (mission speed is full)
As fas as i know the F-22 should change the speed to cruise himself if bingo fuel is reached, shouldn't?

Hm I dind't find any F-22s in that scen, could you check if you sent me the right one?

The F-22 are based on USAF-AF and the mission name is "Transfer F-22 to Bien Hoa"

->You only have to start and after about a few houres all the F-22 crashes (they start with full speed and after a while they change the speed to cruise, but the fuel is not enough...

Do you have a savegame in the air, just before the behaviour kicks in?

We gave up on trying to reproduce edge cases a long time ago hehe. The game has an endless number of testcases, and it is near-impossible to set up the same scenario as a player reports. Savegames good in that they give us the exact setup where the problem occured [8D]

of course, no problem

For me it seems that the calculation is done for the old starting base (USAF-AF) and not the "new home" Base.. So the game changes sped to cruise to late

(have changed the home base from USAF-AF to bien hoa befor starting the game via order of battle)

Okay try this.

Select one of the F-22s that is about to run out of fuel. Go to Unit Status or right-click on the F-22, and select Refuel (if possible) -> Select tanker manually. Then select Pitstop #1.

The game will tell you what's wrong, the F-22s don't refuel because of a doctrine setting [8D]

Pretty neat, no?

Yes,but I don't want that the F-22 refuels (i set intentionally the doctrine this way). The F-22 has enough fuel to transfer to Bien Hoa. So i don't want that the F-22 refuels. But the game does a wrong calculation and let the ac cruise at fullspeed for too long time.

As i suggest the game does the bingo calculation for the "old" home base USAF-AF but it should calculate BINGO for the new Home Basee Bien Hoa (if you change home base).

->Workaround: If i set the speed at cruise for all the time the F-22 transfers without problem. But the F-22 could transfer in a shorter time if the cruise at full speed for part of the distance and then switch to cruise speed (i know the game can handle this normally)

Hehe okay I see. This information should have been in the first post [;)]

You hit an edge case with partially configured tankers for a ferry mission etc. I've fixed the problem in B972.12.

However, the F-22s are Bingo towards the destination on take-off, and thus they will now revert to 480kt and fly at cruise speed the whole way. You may be able to do it faster (Mil throttle) if you enable tanking along the way.
