vaalen -> How accessbile is it? (11/16/2017 3:10:01 PM)

I would love to buy this game.

But I am not going to unless it is reasonably accessible to us veteran gamers.

I did read the thread about huge screens and resolutions. However, I want to know if font size can be changed on more common monitor screen sizes.

I also want to know if you can zoom in close, and if it is easy to read the counters, dialogs, pop ups, etc.

Any information on this topic will be appreciated.

Well it's good you can actually set the fonts - problem is going through all those different dialogs and figuring out what font does what, with no instant feedback on what changed. But hopefully you only need to do it *once*. Do take a backup of the config file when satisfied so it doesn't get overwritten on the first patch [:D]

Zoom seems good - there's many zoom levels, and theres an extra level of Y-zoom in addition which blurs stuff but makes it larger.

UI overall is a HUGE improvement over TOAW3, I found I couldn't play the last years because of increased monitor resolutions and no scaling in the game so all fonts were tiny.

Once the initial UI quirks are ironed out I think it will be really good. UI and accessibility is important for a game one can expect to probably spend hundreds of hours in, and is sadly often overlooked in the rush to finish the game.

Thank you, Stian. That was very helpful. Did you find the contrast between the letters and the background to be easily readable, once you increased the font sizes?

Vaalen

Yeah, there's even a setting to improve contrast by putting a background to stuff like terrain features and city names.

Also just found out you can hold CTRL and use the scroll wheel for the Y-zoom, so you can go smoothly all the way in and out, a nice feature!

This is great news. I will buy it, happily.

I really appreciate your help.
